Ready Set Coffee Roasters

Ready Set Coffee Roasters is a cute little coffee place located right on Detroit Avenue. If you're looking to go somewhere with easy parking options, this might not be the place for you. Maybe we just went on a busy day, but we unfortunately ended up having to park pretty far down the street and had to walk about a block. Their small parking lot only had about 2 or 3 spots for customers. If parking is not an issue for you, then I would say it's a place worth trying out! When you first walk in, you are greeted with a bright room with large arched windows, large red brick walls, and tables scattered throughout the room with the options of 2 to 4 seat tables. It maybe felt a little bit cramped with the way the tables were so close to each other, but it wasn't too bad and there is more seating around the corner down a small hall past the bar. The room was a bit cold and the windows were very drafty. We did go on a particularly cold day so I won't knock them too much for that, but I will say I feel more inclined to stay somewhere longer if the room temp is more comfortable to me. When you walk up to the bar, you will find a decently small menu on top of the bar which I didn't enjoy very much. I personally prefer a larger menu on the wall, or maybe some menus off to the side to view before approaching the counter in order to not feel rushed, or feel like you're cutting the line if it were busy. Maybe that's just me being picky, but I definitely enjoy being able to feel comfortable taking my time in a new place when looking at the menu. Their menu had some classic coffee options, with some more interesting specialty latte options included, and some food items like bagels and different types of biscuits. There was also a small case off to the side with small pastries inside.
While we were there, we tried the iced milk and cookies latte with oat milk, the black cat mocha hot latte, a raspberry bar of some sort, and an egg and cheese biscuit. The lattes were both very good. I wish that the milk and cookies latte had a bit more flavor in it, but it tasted just like a biscoff cookie and was a pretty tasty latte. The mocha had a very cute black cat pattern made with what looked like cocoa powder on top, and was creamy and delicious. The raspberry bar was pretty good. Nothing too special, but it was a light and tasty snack to go with my drink. The egg and cheese biscuit was not something I see often at coffee shops, but we were not disappointed. The biscuit was soft and flaky, and the egg inside was fluffy and delicious. Would definitely recommend trying that one. One thing I really loved about the food was the very cute ceramic plate that it came on and the real glass cup/mug the drinks came in. It makes you feel a bit more homey when enjoying your food and drinks.
One thing I definitely wish they had was accessible napkins and forks/knives up front for customers to grab. They did have straws to take, but that was it. We also found ourselves searching for where to put our glassware when we finished our drinks and food, and found it slightly tucked away on a window sill across from the bar. I do wish there was a sign pointing to where to put your dishes when finished. One thing we definitely did enjoy was the rack of coffee beans to take home. We tried the "Amplifier" and it was very good! The cashier was pretty friendly and patient, I have no complaints about the friendliness of the staff here. Overall, Ready Set Coffee was a pretty decent coffee place that I probably would return to in the future. Their specialty lattes and food options looked very good and I would love to try more things. If you're in the area, I would definitely check them out.
